Causes of Death, Australia, 2009
The leading cause of death in Australia in 2009 was heart disease, according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). While the proportion of deaths from heart disease has decreased over the past decade, it still accounted for 16.0% of all deaths in 2009, compared with 20.9% in 2000.

Thursday’s Yahoo Mail blackout was the source of a lot of headaches, with some 1.2 million users said to be affected. As of press time, Yahoo’s Wikipedia page has been vandalized (screenshot below) and anecdotal reports continue to pour in from users who haven’t had access to Yahoo Mail for more than 8 hours.
